To those questioning the canadian MPG values, the confusion here is the use of old imperial gallons instead of american gallons.
American:
1 gallon = 3.75 litres
Imperial
1 gallon = 4.54 litres
The miles are the same. You can see now why the canadian values were posted so much higher. Kind of misleading. For example, 40 mpg in imperial gallons equals 33 mpg using american gallons.
Mostly mileage is measured here in litres/100 km though. For example 22 mpg would be about 10.7 l/100 km. 30 mpg would be 7.8 l/100 km.
Just though I'd clear that up - no, we don't have super high mileage cars out here.
