if u look on the shifter itself u see there is two balls that one attaches to the lower shift cable and the other to a piece on the shifter assembly, the one that goes on shift assembly u put the white round bushing on....there's only two points on the shifter stick itself that attache, the lower shift cable point which isn't it and the middle of the shifter point where the white bushing goes :)
