It's entirely possible it looks nice in photographs and is not as impressive in real life. In other words, that it looks nice but perhaps there are "details" in real life that would pop up under closer inspection (cheap feeling/looking plastics, cheap feeling switchgear, uncomfortable seats, bad panel alignment, etc). It seems a little premature to say based on what it looks like, that it's comparable to entry-level luxury car interiors.
you've not read any european car mag reviews of the focus ST? they seem to be impressed with it.
in fact they are far more impressed than most american reviews of the standard infiniti g35 interior, which I've personally been inside and the interior is about as high quality as my SVTF
