Yes the wiring is not cheapo, I know exactly what you are asking and it is fine. Secondly, wiring in a resistor in series with the LED would be adding resistance hence you might not reach the required voltage of LED to work in a 12V system. There already is a resistor in-line with the LEDs. I really would like to read that thread you were referring too, to see what the logic behind it was. Finally, the lights are made to fit OEM specs with no problems.
Please continue to ask questions, it is no problem and for sure people who are viewing this thread my learn something or have that same question.
