I have a 2005 ZX4 with the Duratec 2.0. We got the car with 139,000 miles and it's up to 162,000. It came with two notebooks in which the previous owner recorded every trip to the pump, every oil change, and every other service. The car runs like a champ. One thing I really like about the Duratec is that it has a timing chain, not a belt. So that's a major service and potential catastrophe that you don't ever have to worry about. I've done quite a bit of reading on this engine, and it doesn't seem to have any inherent flaws. As long as it's been taken care of, I would be confident in it lasting you quite a while.
