converting to a 4x100 bolt pattern

Is it just me, or has anyone else out there noticed that it is near impossible to find a set of lightweight wheels for the old foci? Nearly all of the seriously lightweight wheels (that I have found thus far) come in only 4x100 or 4x114.3. I think the bolt pattern for the SVT is 5x108 - again, uncommon. Anything in 4x108 is so expensive that I might as well be purchasing wheels for a Rolls.

I am seriously considering ANY option that would help me overcome the bolt pattern dilemma. I can see three possible solutions (in order from least to most favorable).

1) Get a set of wheels with a 4x100 or 4x114.3 bolt pattern, and have a machine shop poke some new holes in them. I am quite leery of this option. It could be quite pricey if wrong, and I am not sure of the structural implications (especially on a set of wheels that are presumably engineered for the lightest weight possible already).

2) Get a machine shop to poke some new holes in my hubs/rotors/brake drums, knock out the wheel studs and put them in the new holes. Presto - I have a common bolt pattern.

3) Use some existing ford parts to convert the Foci to a 4x100 bolt pattern. I did some searching and noted that the Escort, Aspire and the ZX2 all have this bolt pattern. Does anyone know if any of the relevant parts from these vehicles are interchangeable?

I would appreciate any input from anyone who could shed some light on this matter.
