So after looking at this thread, I think I'm going to go ahead and order my parts to build my own exhaust. I'm think of a similar idea using a borla muffler but I'm not going to use the transverse kind.

I'll be cutting off the stock cat back just, getting rid of muffler #1, #2, and #3, running 2.5'' pipe all the way back, into a resonator where #2 muffler would be at, and then back into a Borla muffler.

I'm thinking that I'll get the Borla 40348 -- 2.5'' inlet, dual 2.5'' outlets

Use these 3.7'' rolled titanium tips

And have the muffler shop fab up an exhaust that looks something like the FSWerks exhaust, but tucked up more after cutting out the bottom of the bumper and be a true dual outlet with slightly offset titanium tips...
What I am envisioning it to look like in MS Paint

Hopefully I'll have enough room to squeeze all of that under the rear bumper.

Question for you Borla guys, what is the difference between a notched muffler and an un-notched muffler? For example the Borla 400485 and 40348 are both 2.5'' inlet, dual 2.5'' outlets, same dimensions, but one is almost $30 more because it is notched? What are they talking about?
