I always wonder that the thinking behind SCT, Cobb, Superchips etc is that individuals who buy enthusiast cars are more likely to modify their ride. From my experience this is true. I think we need to check with other platforms that did not receive a turbo/sport/enthusiast model but got around the roadblock of 'oh hum, wo is me' metality and got sh!t done.
mazdaspeedforums.org was a pretty radical crowd, one that didn't take any garbage from other platforms (look up the Royal Purple MSF VS 8th gen matchup lol) and came up with some AMAZING feats without having a lot of vendors or even full tuning available at first. For quite some time, Mazdaspeeds (3 and 6) were just side projects, not worthy of the attention of Evo's and STI's. Dare I say even the Genesis is getting some attention now. Yes, the MK3 Focus is an upscale mid-compact with decent power vs mpg and there will be battles to the nth degree between modding and just getting an ST. Hey, a lot of us are just looking for a bit more power/handling fun car enjoyment and don't need 500whp.
We just need the wand to make the magic.
