I don't have a phone that provides internet. I have a Virgin air wi fi pay as you go receiver. When we go on a trip I buy minutes to use as needed. With the hot spot my wife and I can use our lap tops and IPad in the car. We only use a few times a year so maybe we spend forty dollars on internet minutes. Our cell is a basic service and we buy 1000 minutes with no monthly plan. Last year we only used 200 minutes. Bottom line for what we spend a year for cell and wi fi is maybe $150..

At home we have our network which is all we need most of the time. Great to be retired.
