It's seasonal, so now that we are in the winter time frame (after november usually) they blend in a fuel that vaporizes more readily to aid in cold engine starts, but the additives and the formulation of the gas is less energy dense, and less efficient than the fuel sold during the spring through the fall/ (aka the summer fuel blends).
