It should only be on warm which is maybe 250 degrees.

Also Chickenmuffin did this with a heat gun, which wont heat the entire lens. Here is his writeup:

Ya it just means it's not perfectly sealed. Do not use a heat gun, you risk cracking the lens when pulling it apart due to the uneven heat distribution.
