Having a tune is less about seeing huge gains than it is ensuring your car car operate safely and effectively with aftermarket parts. A bunch of bolt-on's won't be 100% effective and can cause your a/f to run lean without a tune to correct it, leading to engine problems in the future.
Getting a tune is about maximizing the engine's performance in the state it is currently in.
