Your spoiled. I think the 3D guy at the studio I work at is spoiled lol.
He requested for a faster computer and got it. They gave him a 12-core 3.2 i7 MacPro, 12 gigs of Ram DDR3 if I believe, the Nvidia quad monitor 2GB graphics card and 2 250 GB SS drives in the computer with another 4 TBs of storage Raid.
Sheesh. The rest of our graphics and photo team were all jealous of him. Of course we can't complain to much, we are all running 8-core systems ourselves and they work just fine for the things we do.
