If your dct is driving "smoother" with the TCS off under normal driving conditions than there is a fair chance that you either have oil contaminated clutches or glazed clutches and this slip between input and output speeds is causing the TCS to clamp down on the power and or the brakes.
There should be almost no discernable difference with the TCS on or off except under hard acceleration from a dead stop, or going around corners too aggressively that you'd provoke wheel spin with it off.
