That's the whole gist of the problem right there. They HAVEN'T provided an explanation. Ford says "The shift motors are waking up, don't worry about it".
Apparently my BS sensor is a little more sensitive than yours, but that is not a sufficient explanation.
Let me ask you this...does your car make this sound (assuming you have the 6-speed auto)?
