Yes, the Mk1 Focus was riddled with recall after recall and made it one of the most unreliable car in its time. Thankfully they all got resolved but to be sure, it's worth checking with your dealer (give them your VIN) if the recalls have been applied to your vehicle. Since it's been almost a decade since most of these recalls were issued, they may not apply the repairs for free anymore, but if it is a safety recall like the hub/wheel recalls that is listed, I suggest that you pay and get it done. Better be safe than sorry.
I personally purchased several parts for my ford like the lower engine mount, the spindle, some gaskets and nuts and they were all different from what I originally had in my car. Many parts were redesigned for this car due to poor and rushed minds of the engineers that worked on this car (just my opinion, may be partially true)
