Funny - customer service rep didn't waste any time contacting me today... after the BBB contacted them. heh...
Customer service rep says he has to stand by the dealer's word for now, but assured me that it's all still under warranty and if the grinding /driving gets worse to take it in for diagnostics again and that he'll foot the bill.
I'm not really sure what this all means for my BBB case yet, though...
