True. It is a TSB, not a recall (well, not a recall for customers that already have their cars) so it is at the dealer's discretion but the list of issues the TSB addresses are: "concerns with navigation, voice recognition, call sound quality, phone pairing and/or system performance."
Find a car with MFT that doesn't have at least one, if not all, of those issues.
Hopefully when they look at yours they will determine you could benefit from it. Installing a simple update seems like less of a PITA than having them keep your car while they replace hardware!
