The C-Max is a very good handling car. However, the Focus might be the best handling FWD vehicle available in the US. Because the C-Max weighs 600 lbs more and is 12" taller than the Focus hatchback, it isn't as fun to drive. It also rides softer than the Focus Titanium.
I find the Focus Titanium to be almost the ideal balance between sportiness and comfort. It does great on twisty roads and is a nearly perfect daily driver. It is fun to rev the engine, and the DCT is great for spirited driving.
I do find the interiors of the two cars to be on the same level. The C-Max is more Escape than Focus interior wise, but still similar. I miss having a real tachometer, but it is pointless in a hybrid. The best way to describe the C-Max is a cross between a Focus and Escape. It allows me to not own an SUV/CUV for at least 3-5 more years. Hopefully there is a Grand C-Max or S-Max in the US by then.
