Appreciate your efforts and will give this a shot next weekend when I install my winter wheels. My only concern would be the ultimate yield strength of the studs.
Did you check the torque value before you loosened them? That to me would be of interest. I will check mine and report back what they were tightened to when my springs and bearings were replaced.
