if you hold the pedal to the floor, your backfire won't build pressure up in the intake if it happens. on the svt with those couplers... its especially important. that's my guess anyway.
I'm not familiar with the SVT though... did they eliminate the fuel shutoff that occurs if you open the throttle all the way or is that exactly why you do that, Tom?
do svts leave a little fuel behind when shut off?
edit: hey I'm not entirely sure of the best way but you'll need to cut those crimped clamps off and temporarily use hose clamps on them to get you around.
