I recently had a dealer appointment to address a series of issues including my abnormal city MPG and the dealer said that Ford Canada does not pick up any fees related to fuel MPG testing done on their cars, even under warranty. He did not say how much it was, but basically, if I want it done, I will have to pay for it myself.
He also went on about how the EPA sticker is purely marketing and that no one should believe any of Ford advertisments about fuel efficiency! Ahahaha... love it when they are so honest.
An easy cop out is to blame the car.
When I drove enthusiastically I'd never break 25MPG, if even that.
When I drove normally 30MPG was a joke to maintain.
As much as the car can be responsible your right foot is more responsible for the kind of efficiency you get
