I'll try to post pictures soon.
Similar to the "fog light ram air" thread I found, except I still have my fog lights
I wanted to help negate potential heat soak with my K&N short ram so I modified the old air scoop that is normally up front above the grille. I moved the tube down to behind the lower grille. I found 5-inch square tube for more volume. Because the other end of the tube is not directly below the new cone filter, I riveted a piece of sheet metal to the intake heat shield to direct the air over to around the filter.
Tests with a fan showed that there was some serious airflow circulating around the filter.
Not looking for a "ram air" effect from this, I knew it wouldn't actually create any pressure, but more fresh air should help lower AITs a bit.
