Ok guys, I'm really stuck now.

I stuck the pin in and turned the engine to TDC. Then I took the valve cover off and I checked the slots on the cams. They seem to be right where they should be. I slotted a bar in there and it fits in nicely. (it's not the proper bar but it's 4.5mm and the slot is 4.9mm so I think that's ok or does it HAVE to be real tight in there?)

I just did a compression check and the cylinders are all at 50PSI. That's way low according to most of the figures I've seen previously. But what would cause ALL of them to be that low? I'm confused.

I really don't know what to do next so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

edit: I've taken a pic of the bar in the cam slots. It's in my album. The pin is in the engine and I cranked the engine round to TDC. The bar and the slots look right to me. Can someone confirm this for me please?
