I thought that first the recall was notice enough that I probably did need the part, secondly I called and made an appointment specially mentioning this recall. You'd think they could've ordered the part ahead of time just in case.

I asked about having to order the part and they claimed it was Ford's problem, that the recall specified to investigate first then order the part if needed. Does that seem right?

Either way it looks like I have to drop my car off again sometime in the next week or two to actually get the recall fixed. I can say I probably won't be going to this dealership again after this is all said and done.
When I called my dealer, the service adviser checked with the parts department to verify the harness was available. It was, so I brought it in and they had the car for about 40 minutes. He said it was the first one they had replaced. Not every dealer is squared away and will waste your time.
