Focus was designed/engineered in Germany, so you know at least for the hatch..engineers wanted to have a driver car. I test drove both the sedan and hatch..and you can def tell the difference between the two chassis...sedan is more...mush...both were SE package cars with a stick

Also if you can get a 2012 built between 3/2012-mid 6/2012...the shocks were coded heavy duty according to ford parts.com
I beg to differ, maybe your A55 Dyno said it was a stiffer ride, I have also driven both and there is such a small margin of stiffness difference that you would never really notice. I have yet to have a handling problem in my sedan, only thing I need is better springs.
