get rid of the extraneous stuff in the background and foreground of the pics (thru composition or with P shop) like the feet and helmet and such, try a setting one stop cooler than you are using on the aperture, and pay a tiny bit more attention to critical focus, and on the close ups use auto focus. Id' also use fill flash in those over bright situations as it'll add to the definition of the object. Steal composition from websites that professionally shoot cars too. This helps a hobbyist get better quick.
