Mine did something similar ~3 days ago!!! Except I was driving in residential (~15-20mph). It sounded more like a spring or weird pinging noise. Anyway, I pulled over immediately, didn't see anything out of the ordinary, drove in reverse for 10 feet, then the noise went away. I figured it was a rock from my gravel driveway caught in the brake pad.
