Because they are a PITA / nearly impossible to crimp W/O removing the manifold.
Assuming the hose fits properly (which if it doesn't, well that's the first problem) snug is all you need on a worm style clamp. Use a screwdriver and not a wrench/ratchet to tighten the clamp. This will reduce the TQ you're able to tighten with and should ensure you don't overtighten and strip the clamp.
