Like the others, I'm confused about why the OP would take such a loss over one issue (that compared to many of the problems people have had with these cars, is somewhat minor) that they ended up fixing.
More to it perhaps? In the end, I guess it doesn't matter, as it was your decision and it's done anyway.

Not a newer one anyway. Everything from them I've been in just doesn't feel like it has the soul or sets a standard like their cars used to. Everything they come out with just feels like it's playing catch-up.

It depends on the company and car, but you could say that and it wouldn't necessarily be untrue.
Too many factors relating to why that is though to list here. You could have a whole thread on that subject...
