My cruise never "bogged" down my car's speed driving (or from headwind) from Florida to Michigan across the mountains in Kentucky and Tennessee (I also have a roof rack with two bikes, but that never really created as much of a "windsail" effect per say either with the cruise on. I barely saw a 1-2 mph differentiation at most. I was very impressed with the cruise. (I'm a cruise control driver for the most part, too)
