I'm comparing apples to apples, you are comparing apples to oranges.
If you want to compare a retailer's limited-time/customer discount to manufacturer's regular prices and call it apples to apples, be my guest.
As a consumer the only price that matters is what is actually paid. I've looked and can't find it for less than your msrp. Thousands of items sell above or below msrp; it's a statistic only manufacturers care about.
As far as there's no possible way to know the cheapest price, you're right. But I trust that other members would point out a better price. If you know of a place that sells below MSRP or can do a ff discount I'd love to hear it. Hell, price isn't even a heavy criticism, but you can't try and tell consumers that you're the cheap option when they'll pay more than the competitors product sells for.
