with my car needing paint and doing body work on it i just use a spray on was. i was using the cheaper meguiars spray wax but i recently started using their ultimate finish spray wax and it is worth the difference. with the clear coat peeling and all the rock chips i never got compliments on my cars paint but with the meguiars ultimate finish spray wax a few people have told me that even with those issue ( and the spots with spray can primer from body work i did ) looks great. water beads off and considering its a spray on wax and i use polishing towels it doesnt last a long time but only needs it about every 3 days. more if you live were there is a lot of dust and grease on the roads.
