So what is the purpose of motor noise being piped into the interior for? Do people that buy these type of car's really want that or do they want performance? Is this the new eqifilent of exhaust note's now or what? What are they going to pipe in next?
My understanding of it is that manufactures are getting better and better at isolating outside noise (wind noise, road noise, etc.) and as a result it becomes harder to hear the engine note. The idea is that enthusiasts like to be able to hear the engine but still want a seemingly solid car that isn't plagued by tons of outside noise.
It falls in line with my preferences. Wind noise is annoying on long drives but I do like to hear the engine.
