sirhawkeye - Fair enough. Mine is going in as soon as I can find the time and another vehical to drive. My dealer doesn't have free or rental cars to help with my Ford's shop time. Best of luck with your repair. I truly hope we all get the support from Ford that they claim. We'll see if Quality is Job One or just more lip service. I fully agree they need to get their hands on it to fix my car. However, Ford has thousands of these on hand to test, poke and prod, so that is why I would like to see reports on what the heck they are doing to fix it. Our industry uses a two fold approach. 1. Hands on repair of the customer's equipment, and 2. Engineers working at the headquarters figuring out what went wrong with the design in the first place. Again, best of luck to you. (I'm really not hostile, I just don't want to get burned a second time by Ford. Rest assured, it won't happen ever again!)
BigJay - Good for you on the manual trans, I wish I didn't live in the city as I would have bought a manual. Driving in the city stinks with a manual transmission. Especially if you hit rush hour traffic. That is why I bought the auto-trans as I often hit rush hour due to shift changes. Do you have a 2012 Focus, or just the Golf TDI that your profile lists?
cappa - Are you the kid that keeps poking at the chained up pitbull? Hopefully that pitbull doesn't break the chain and eat you for lunch. In this case I hope your transmission holds up and Ford doesn't take your $27k++ and laughs all the way to the bank as you sit on the side of the road after your warranty is up.
