The most restrictive part of any exhaust is the cat. Remove it/them and the rest is comparatively fine tuning. You may also look at it the other way. Mounting a header
with a trailing cat, gain would be effectively zero, as any potential gains from the header would be negated by the cat. Hence, the only reason for folks that need to meet emissions may want to purchase a header would be economic, as the stock mani-cat retails for ~1400.00.
