A 5.0 fox does not run 14.2 stock. 14.9 maybe. The majority of them that are stock with over 150k miles might pull at 15.2. That being said, it is very possible to get a stock motor 5.0 fox in the 12s with a real good suspension and the right gear and driver.
Guess you haven't raced anyone that can drive. My friend has 330k on his and it pulled a 13.4 @ 106mph with gear, exhaust and a tire, not to mention he busted his tranny and couldn't go higher then 3rd so he just pinned the limiter the rest of the way down.
14.2 is what they run with a good driver (this is not uncommon) and there are some factory freaks too. Another buddy had a pure freak that ran 13.6 bone stock on street tires, it was awesome!
It is possible because it's done all the time! bolt-ons, suspension, gear, tire and 12.6 is what my friends dad runs.
Focus is not made for the quarter.
But to answer your question. Yes your 2300lb FI focus that runs 12.9 can beat a bone stock full weight 5.0 from the late 80s, early 90s at the dragstrip.
From light to light on the street though it's gonna be close since you run that time with slicks at a dragstrip.
