i do for a minute or two, then i just take it easy till i see the oil pressure gauge drop to ~40psi when i'm cruising along, then i know its warmed up. 
and whoever lets their car run for 20minutes that's the biggest waste of gas ever. when it gets to around -15C i plug in the block heater so its already quite warm when i start it.
