So this weekend was the point of no return... the timing belt came off, the head came off, and the new head went on.
Still lots and lots to do, and I'm kinda fearing the timing belt install with that VCT gear, but we'll see how it goes.
Here it is... everything removed! You can see the new CFM tensioner pulley, too.
After a thorough cleaning of the block's head gasket surface, the block's first ever mod got installed... ARP head studs! A fresh head gasket completes the prep, and the head is ready to go on.
And then the head! I cleaned the timing belt cover bracket and it looks almost new, and installed a new timing belt idler. Tomorrow will be the cams, new tensioner and the belt, I hope.
