62 miles one way! I hope to give this car to one of my kids after it has at least 400,000+ on it?

Original engine/trans; no repairs to either one

lots of break jobs, fuel filters, and tires oh yea and two timing belts @ $300.00+ to replace
DON'T EVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS(BIAS FOR FORD )ARE NOT FIRST RATE IN QUALITY!
tAKE CARE OF IT ...AND IT WILL RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&RUN&...........................................................................BYYA

Ok i will call you and raise you a couple.....(all orig engine/trans, Except otherwise noted)
01 ZX3 612768
01 ZX3 418175
01 ZX3 390000
03 ZX3 402632
04 ZX3 392539
05 ZX3 313878 (new trans, on this one)

I would have more for you but our drivers keep wrecking them! I have about 8 more with just under 300k on them.

I am convinced that this engine (DOHC 2.0) will run for a million miles. Thats my goal with the ones listed above.

I change the oil every 10k (1.5 months) i use Napa 5-30.

Long term maint,
Put in Ford clutches only, put a new master cylinder on with the clutch.
Replace the plastic cross over pipe at about 100K and every 100k after.
Thermostat housings every 100K
Timing belts only when they break (non interference motor) had one go 400k before it broke.
Water pumps, Idler and pullys and belts(belt sooner if needed) at 100K
Look for the front wheel bearing hubs to go bad at about 200K
You will probably never wear out the rear wheel bearings but 300K is a good mark.
Shocks and struts at 100k prolly, we run ours until about 300k. (thats only 4-5 years)
PCV System hose and valve complete replace 100k
Fuel pump(in tank) at about 150-200k.
Watch out for the fan temp switches (resistor) they seem to fail and burn the harness plug.

Keep in mind that my vehicles go 80k a year, I adjusted the numbers to fit you more (IE i do PCV valves at 200k) Age will make your numbers shorter in some cases. As always YMMV.

the 01's have been our best cars, 03's were pretty good (automatics sucked)
the new series starting with 05' are poorly made, engine is strong the rest of the car is a piece. Rear shocks blow out and it will almost put you off the road!

Over all i am VERY impressed!
I have a ton of info to share, i have rebuilt several of these cars.
