It would be good if those with the highest MPG (especially 40+) to let us know how they achieved it.
ok, since i am one of the 13 getting 40+ i will reveal my secret..... absolutely nothing. i drive smoothly about 50 mile commute mostly interstate. i only use a/c when i realy need it and i leave the windows up. i didnt increase my tire pressure until recently but i already was over 40. i have a manual and i coast whenever i can and keep with traffic. i go the speed limit. i also keep junk out of my car so i dont have extra weight. im pushn 200 lbs so im not a feather weight. i think that one think that helps is the 2008 is drive by wire instead of a cable throttle. the only thing that ive done (also after reaching 40+) was to switch to amsoil 0w-20 full synthetic. i gained 1 more mpg and my temp gauge runs cooler. i use BP 87 everytime, i only put 2 tanks of kroger gas at first. and i manualy check my mpgs and the computer is the same as my manual calculation.
so far my highest was 41.4 adn my lowest was 40.1.
