Not everyone has the time to go to the drag strip or track every week just to make a little run either. When people "street race" they normally go to a deserted area in a group with people looking out for other cars/police. I don't consider it to be dangerous unless you are out in front of the mall with a 10 second car racing through traffic or some crap. But whatever this sounds lame to me. If there isn't anyone out on the road I don't see the harm but that is just me. I don't even do it but I see no problem with it.
