You can d.d. on azenis rt-615,s but you will save alot of money when you get a dedicated set of race wheels& tires.( they are great , but wear fast especially if you drive agressively.)
azenis won't last much more than a season & a half when D.D. & autoX!
In SM, you still have to run a "DOT" tire even if it's an "R" compound, other wise you will be bumped into a prepared or modified class.
I'm in SM & run Nitto NT-01's this year & love them, but be prepared to replace R comp.s every season. that's the nature of race tires
Yeah I pretty much figured that going in. I've been running street tires for 2 years now, and it's close to the end of the season, only about 6 autocrosses left, so if I can ride the rest out on a good street tire then I'll be happy.
This winter I'm gonna get me a set of wheels with r-comps for autocrossing on so I don't have to worry anymore about dd'ing and auto-x'ing on the same tires. This is one of those situations where you got to pay to play. Damn my region for having so many autocrosses a year. lol
I was about 92.4567382% sure I still had to run a DOT r-comp in street mod. Even though the index will only be about 1-2% greater with a slick, every little bit helps ya know.
Thanks for the help everyone. I had my mind pretty much made up in some RT-615's, but I just wanted to get some opinions on them first. Looks like I'm gonna be getting me some Falkens.
