The auction says it's for an Escort so presumably it is the same fit as the Pacesetter i.e. needs modification for a Focus.

As for shortening the header to put a converter on, it's not a good idea. There isn't enough straight pipe after the collectors on the header to replace with a converter. In addition, this would put the converter under your transaxle, ground clearance would be an issue. Lastly, the headers are traditionally tuned pipes and the tube length is important to the flow.

As for the converter after the flex concerns, you should be fine. The Pacesetter website even states you have to re-locate your converter in their Escort header discription.
