This plastic piece has teeth that hold the adjustment and it seems some SVTF are adjusted with a one or two tooth difference which is causing this problem. It has a very simple fix, which is to have someone hold the shifter at dead center (or slightly over to the right) while someone is pressing the release button for the adjusting mechanism. The correct one is the black one with the orange button (If I remember both had orange buttons but it is definetely the black housing).
I think I may need to adjust my shifter. Seems like the shifter is stopping suddenly going into second, like it is hitting something. I've located the orange button. Just curious am I suppossed to hear a "click" or something when I press the button? Do i press it once or a few times?
