Utahns E-Center Autocross Meet 05/31/10

So here it is,

The event will be held at the E-Center on Memorial day, so you guys should have the day off!

this will be a regular AutoX event, meaning it will be scored!

this is how our events are held,
7:30-8:30 A.M. Registration and Check In.
8:30-9:30 A.M. Tech Inspection and Course Walk.
9:30 A.M. Divers Meeting.
10:00 A.M. First Car Out.

now for the fun!

durring the drivers meeting they will split the classes in half, one half to work the other to drive!

we normally get 5 runs then we swap and work 5 runs. after that we have a 30-45 minute lunch break. then we come back and do it again! (drive 5 work 5)

your best time out of 10 is what you're scored on. each cone you knock over or knock out of the box is 2 seconds, so be careful!

bring water, sunscreen, shades, hat, and drivers liscense. take as much out of your car as you can at your house, or you can take it out at the event, this is what i usually do. (subs, drinks, mats etc.)

if i remember anything else i'll add to this.
if you don't want to race just come out, there's no fee to watch or get a ride.

okay, there are two ways of registering.
you can become an SCCA member and save money at every event.. so probably a good idea if you plan on doing it a lot. otherwise it's not worth it. it is 45 per year if you are 24 or younger. otherwise it's 65 a year.

the second way is to purchase a "weekend membership" which is 15 dollars.
the whole member thing above gives you the insurance for the race. (i think)

then you have the actual fee for the race.

SCCA Member Pre Reg $35**
SCCA Member On Site $45
Race w/ Weekend Membership $50

then you can get temp numbers. they're just printed paper with a number and class on them.
Number Sets $1.00 (available on site)

if you wanna know what class you're in tell me your mods and i'll let ya know!

also, if you're driving and it's your first time racing, don't expect to be top dog, it just won't happen! there's so much to learn about autoX it's unreal.
feel free to ask me anything about it and i'll do my best to answer.

working at those usually means you are either helping time runs or you are set up at different corners and you have to watch for cones being hit... How much is the entry fee for scca members for this one?

i'll add all the fees later on today, i've got to go train another group for work in a few.

yeah, working consists of (utah region) standing at a station out on the track with a partner and you have a section you watch for hit cones, no matter what happens to the cone you must go check it out and put it back or radio in a penalty. walkie talkie style! another job is making sure grid is organized and also another job is the start flag! i want to do the start flag this time.. haha.

Maybe I'll come out to watch, but I'm saving my race $ for Wow Wednesdays at Miller on June 2. It's only $35 to race unlimited on the big tracks, and $1 per lap on the AutoX. If you guys can wait 2 days to race, you can get more bang for your buck out there.
