To all Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado Fanatics

Several of us CO Fanatics were discussing this last night:

What would you think about us breaking away from the Mid West and becoming the "Rocky Mountain Fanatics" Region?

This is not a slam on the Mid West folks. It's just that the Mid West Region is just too dammed big area-wise. It's too big of a strain to try and have a regional G2G because of the massive drive it would take just to reach a centrally located spot.

Besides, we're about as Mid West as Missouri was a Great Lakes state.

Let us know what you think.

i see what your saying but the only state i think that really applies to this is Utah, or Montana. they seem to be the most far fetched in the Midwest but even then i still consider that the midwest.

Not to mention we are even seperated by a time zone, seems kinda wierd our region would stretch so far.

I think they just need to break it into north central and south centralsplit it at the nebraska oklahoma line or somewheres about there.

We've been doing good with g2g's each year with no problems and we rotate them. black hills, yellowstone...
Thing is, noone fr4om your area ever said boo before a few months ago and now expect everyone to jump. I set up a black hills g2g for this year because only like 1 person from your area was even saying anything or giving any imput, and I'm limited on time to coordinate things.

no reason to get all mad, it just is a group figuring out the options and for us all popping up out of nowhere, its called growth with interest. Simply it takes a couple of ppl to get it started and then keep it going. Not to mention we get new members every week.

first we dont where pantie well atleast i dont im a boxer man ok enough about me the topic is group well when we have more than 15 ithink thats a little more than a group and yes we have already started a crew its the rockymtn crew aka blazin the twisties for most of us the hole reason for this is to not make people drive so far for a g2g driving hundreds of miles to go to a g2g is stoopid when all you are going to do when you get there is drive another hundred or so miles. when you can drive a shorter distance and hookup with more foci. more people would rather drive a short distance its a fact. we do respect your guys thoughts so everybody needs to get along we will all meet up one day maybe in august. this is my opinion!.

great points.
but that area suggested covers alot of miles and many would still have to drive way more than 100 miles. thats why I said form a group. but since you already did what would be the use of splitting up all the states as was suggested? just host a weekend g2g.
reason we do the black hills, yellowstone, etc is for everyone in montana, wyoming, ND<, SD, and nebraska to g2g so the distance to drive varies for people year to year. next year is in the works for glacier so the montana guys don't have too much of a drive but some of the rest of us do.
I've got 7 hrs to the black hills this year and then turn around 2 weeks later and have a 16-18 hr drive to arkansas for focusfest, but then agai, I actually enjoy driving as do some of the other guys. If I wanted it in my back yard I'd rent the dragstrip 3 hrs away and invite the guys, but most of us prefer mountain driving without traffic, hence the black hills and roads around yellowstone and such. we're getting more into a national park and surrounding area type thing.
our little group is way spread out, helena, billings, jamestown, lincoln, and pretty much everything in between. we do it because we enjoy getting together, shooting the shit, driving, and genrally catching up with each other every year.

This suggestion wasnt meant to start a fight, but u seem to want to get some frustration out. So stop trying to start a fight, we know ur view on it already....thank u for it. Now anyone else have any opinions on this?

BTW I cant get enough time to go to FocusFest and Black hills, so Black hills is out. The same is for some ppl here as well, so how bout u guys enjoy ur "regional" gtg....

So anymore opinions from anyone else?
