it is when it was your grandparents and they are still as anal about it as when they owned it...actually I think even thought the title is in my name I think they believe they still own it.
You really should've just bought it and if she said no then you could've sold it again or something. That sucks though. Just try and find another one. Once I start working again I want to start some cool projects. We'll see how it plays out though.
no kidding that does suck. I'm going in tomorrow morning to start working on my bike so I can get it running well again
but yeah those gm cars with the V6s just haul ass period. which is the reason I'm now planning a 3800 series II supercharged swap with a manual tranny. they're cheap and damn reliable. plus 240hp 280tq doesn't hurt either
(oh yeah btw this has been done in a few third gen cavaliers so I know its gonna work in mine. plus the guy tuning my computer will make it so I can use a 98-02 obdII pcm from any n/a 3800 and just wire it up to the factory harness.
the transmission, because I know your lumina is more than likely an auto, will be from a 92 cavalier. yes for some crazy reason gm stopped production of their manual trannies in V6s in 93. also the old plentiful 3100 is a 60 degree V6 and the 3800 is a 90 degree, but they have the same bellhousing pattern.
oh then also its awesome because the front mounts can go right on my front subframe, and the whole combo of parts is right around 1K Posted via FF Mobile
Mike I still don't see a lot of point into huge motor swaps like that into your focus. But if you like then that's cool [thumb] The only swaps I would do would either be a 2.3L built Duratec or the CSVT motor swap. That's about it. But since I am probably getting rid of the focus soon it's pointless to plan it.
lol yeah kinda pointless for you broc. I see it the opposite way around though. not worth the work for plus .3 liters. if you're gonna do it, why not do it for power and overall uniqueness.
this engine has so far become the most feasible. sure maybe the duratec but too many people have done it.
the v8? ehhh same story
subaru? wasn't worth it it gain maybe 30hp at most.
I mean, think.... how many foci out there have been swapped with a 3.8L V6 that has been factory supercharged? then look at the motor itself.... sure its a way popular swap into Fieros but not being manuals either.
I can guarantee I would be "that guy" with the L67 swap. plus in this case I would be more than doubling my power output, retaining fwd, and that's fine with me
so not an argument, just throwing MY 2 cents in there Posted via FF Mobile
Yeah brock I see it your way in the end it's just still a focus. As for me I'm pretty set on selling mine, I've had it since I was 17 and I'm kinda tired of some the bullshit problems lately
so? I hate it when people have that attitude... yes, that's right, your car will always be better than mine because you dumped a boat load of cash on your Ferrari, never got your hands dirty on it ONCE (for those that DO and worked towards getting one and actually work on it, congrats; one of the very few to have done so!) and it's just like all of the others, with maybe a different color than red (OH unique!). But I'm sorry, I must have forgotten, you don't NEED to make it your own because it's a Ferrari. [facepalm]
I will gladly drive my econobox that I have personally worked on, and made my own, than throw a wad of cash at some exotic car and never work on it. And trust me, I'm not alone.
Well knowing a lot about a project is always a good sign. It's all a matter of opinion. Honestly, with the money I would spend to get the power I want out of my car I would rather get a WRX or SRT4 or something.
No ones talking about exotics. there is just way too many better platforms to start with, like one that's not front wheel drive and not a small economy car
well sure yeah of course there are..... but I have this platform and it's paid off. I'd love to have a new car but at the same time I can't afford one, where something that I already own can be completely changed and I'll get a nice amount of satisfaction out of it. I don't know anyone who has bought a new car and immediately ripped the motor out and put something else in it. (not that it hasn't been done I'm sure [hihi])
sorry for blowin up on ya, I just hate that first segment, whatever car it may be.
Me personally I'm just done with computer controlled vehicles for a while, hence why I'll be driving my mustang and buying a 12v cummins soon after the fo is gone
Yeah for sure mark I'll sell that stuff for what I originally paid, hell my reset xcal should be back soon too so I could throw that in with it
A kid I work with really wants my car, and even my dad think I should get rid of it for some reason lol. And I want that damn cummins so bad now I even had a dream about one the other night
ooo...I had a bad experience with the fog light mod on my old green one. we tried it...jumpped the wrong ones and spent the next 3 hrs chasing the fuses we blew...Needless to say its not done on my current car.
The jump looked the same as mine, try some longer connectors. It felt good doing my fog mod in school so it was one of the only completely free mods I've ever done Haha
