I got my crank shaft installed (just need to borrow a piston ring compressor, to finish out the block). Then the high RPM oil pump from CFM and my bottom end will be built up by the end of this month... dont think the car will be all back together though until end of September so I think I will be mostly missing out on the Auto X this year, but next year my car will be ready! I want to attend a few of the events that are at the E / Maverick Center, but for the time being I will be a spectator.

ha, trust me.. i've seen crazier/worse drivers. for example.. this dork over the weekend took his Vette over the curb sideways and smacked a tree.... some people just can't handle horse power..

we will be running until late October and possibly throughout the winter as well. we will stay in the valley until the snow hits then we will most likely be heading down to St. George for winter events! (i hope!!)

Sounds good. Will have to keep updated on the events so if / when my car is up and running I can take it out on a track.

How many miles till you Auto X a new motor? I think I have heard a 4k to 5k miles (or at least 1 regular length oil change) before really getting on your motor...?

nope an autox will be perfect to break in your motor. Drive it like you will and it will seal better than trying to baby it. In the event you do not get a chance to race for awhile, the first few miles are critical to ring sealing. drive it hard, no neutral (no-load) revs here.

race, change oil, enjoy healthy engine.

now would you still take that advice if some 20 year old kid told you that?

More like an after market flash. Basically I get those rpm dips and it will kill the engine sometimes. But anyone ever gone to ford for an ecu update?
