INSTALLED: SVTF coated header, R/T CAT, and flex on buddies focus
ok, here it is.....
install took about 3.5 hours start to finish, not too hard, just bolts and wrenches basically. His check engine light is on, because the EGR sensor cannot hook up to the SVTF header...we will be looking for an ans\wer to that, most likely just making a closed look on the sensor or something. any answeres post on here, that would be great.
runs GREAT, sounds exactly like my SVTF, which has a R/t HF cat and a Volant on it. his car has the borla cat back. he has decided to go with powerworks, and we are prolly gonna install that as well......if I don't kill him in the process of that install.......OMG there are a crapload of pieces in that kit.
so his exhaust now goes:
Coated FRPP SVTF header <> R/T HF cat <> FRPP flex pipe <> borla exhaust......
just about the best system you can have on the focus [thumb]

Looks nice...I just finished this install on my car today, except I have an ORP and the header is wrapped instead of coated....all I can say is 'loud and proud..'
mmm. love the look of that car, and that really cleans up the engine bay nicely. looks great.
where did u get the FRPP flexpipe?

yup thats the one.......he has the SVT shocks on the front, has to get a new KYB AGX one for the right side. he is STILL waiting for the RS bumper to come in. while we were under the car he looked around and the repair shop didn't tighten town his driver's side sway bar....the bolt was hanging by a thread or two....literally!
we fixed that, but his bumper has a green patch on it right now. I can't find the pict right now.
You can always get an SCT tuner with EGR disable to get rid of the CEL, and extra power to boot![thumb]
That looks like the standard ZX3 Borla, how does that hook up with the SVT components in front of it. That is almost the system I will have, I plan on getting the SVT 2.5" Borla, and go with the CFM cat instead of the RT. Looks great, do you have any sound clips?

there is no difference between SVT and ZX3 exhausts. the only difference that i know of is there is usually a resonator on the SVTs.
listen to an SVT w/ the R/T HF cat......I SWEAR, they sound identical to this.....maybe a bit louder, but the same SOUND......
NOTE: today we had to cut the Borla pipe 1.25" because the tip and other parts were too far back in the hangers.......the R/T cat and header push the exhaust back an inch or so, so we had to shorten it to make it hang straight. it works fine now. he had a vibration when he started up, and it was the pipe hitting at the rear suspension....it's all good now.
